First Technical Sub-units in Linkebeek

A visit to the testing laboratories of Laborelec in Linkebeek allowed the IPF team to bring back an exciting first picture gallery of the station's core mock-up and technical units currently on site.

The mock-up measures 6m x 7m x 21m and is made out of pine, just like the station.

Most of the station's technical units will be installed on the main level (living quarters) in the center of the station.

The technical core on the station's main floor is divided into three rooms: batteries, water treatment unit and systems' controls. Each technical room will be closed off by firewalls.

Under the station's roof, a first level will also house technical installations.

The roof will house, amongst other things, a fresh water tank, a recycled water tank and the technical core's ventilation system.
