Live From Antarctica: Friday December 12th
The weather is much better: it is the second day now that the weather has been acceptable.
It still doesn't compare to last year's beautiful weather as seen on the pictures of course, for those of you who have been following: no one is walking around in a T-shirt... At least it is possible to continue the garage extension without having to clear away the snow with the bulldozer before hand! As for the interior: the copper tape is starting to cover up the flooring (for reminder, the idea is to create a conductive layer to ensure a gigantic grounding system) and the first coat for the epoxy has also begun. The dividing walls have been set up and the interior space is slowly but surely getting organized.
As for the base camp, happy people don't have stories to tell. The airstrip of our "airport" has been enlarged and elongated. The only thing missing now is a terminal with a duty free shop! When we aren't working at the airport, taking care of computer maintenance or lending a hand here and there, the cook is cooking, the photographer is taking pictures and the doctor is curing...
